NOTICE: If after reading the instructions below you cannot connect to the Internet via the Edelweiss wireless connection, please understand that employees of the Edelweiss Lodge and Motel are not able to provide computer support for our guests, and cannot take responsibility for your computer.

DISCLAIMER: The Edelweiss Motel certifies, to the best of its knowledge that there are no viruses on its network. Internet access is offered for free, and Edelweiss accepts no responsibility for viruses, spyware, or other malware that you may contract on the Internet while using the connection. Lack of a live access point or inability to connect does not grant guests or employees any restitution or refund.

Anyone found trying to abuse the network, or otherwise using the network for phishing, or spamming, or any illicit activities, will be asked to leave the premises and the network will be shut down immediately. Your name and information will be reported to the proper authorities should we deem it necessary, or if it is legally asked of the Edelweiss Lodge and Motel.

Instructions for Connecting

Current SSID: { please see the front desk }

Current WEP key: { please see the front desk }

To connect using Windows XP:

1. Click the Start button
2. Click My Network Connections
3. Click View Network Connections under the Tasks section
4. Right-cick the “Wireless Network Connection” icon and choose Properties
5. Choose “Wireless Networks” tab from the pop-up dialog box
6. Click “Add” button
7. Enter the following parameters:
   1. SSID: (see above)
   2. Network Authentication: Shared
   3. Data Encryption: WEP
   4. Uncheck “the key is provided for me automatically”
   5. Enter the WEP Encryption Key in both the “Network Key” and “Confirm Network Key” box (see above).
   6. Click OK.
8. The computer should now begin to detect the wireless network automatically.
9. The WEP encryption key is changed periodically for security practices, so if you are not able to connect it may be that you need the new WEP Key.
10. If you are still not able to connect, please do not ask us to help you, as we cannot take responsibility for your computer. Thank you.
